Leo has Diabetes

My 8 year old Keeshond Leo was diagnosed with diabetes on Saturday 11th, 2009. The only reason I was able to go ahead with treatment was because I qualified for $2100 in Care Credit. Now there is only about $600 available on that card and Leo will need $180 testing each week until we get his insulin regulated.

To say the least this is costing me a ton of money that I do not have being a student and having a part time job that only gives me around $136/wk. Dad did chip in $500 but in the letter that accompanied the check he basically told me that I was wasting this money on Leo and that I should just put him down. I am so pissed at him right now. Leo has 4-5 years left on his breeds lifespan.

Leo is doing great now that he is at home and it seems that he is getting the right amount of insulin at 8 units twice a day.

So all sales of prints on here and my stuff on [link] will be going towards paying for Leo's vet bills.

I have also created a fundraiser. To Make a Donation Visit: [link]

Wow! I never knew there was such a community for Keeshonden out there! My first ever dog, his name was Silver, was a Keeshond. He was the most wonderful, loyal dog ever. I grew up with him and miss him dearly! Your Leo and Sully are so beautiful, such a treasure.

Um.. hi.
Thank you for the comment. Yes they are the best breed out there in my opinion. You know that even if you don't have one now you can join The Keeshond Express forum and share stories and pictures of your Silver.

Booth: I'm Mr. Adaptable okay? The side mirror is the size of a thumbnail!
Brennan: Well that is what happens when you rent a car the size of your thumb.
